I had a viewer on my YouTube Channel make a special request this week for a video on WW snack ideas. I thought a little bit about it and came up with five quick and easy snacks to throw together when you need a little something to curb you over until your next meal without derailing your points for the day.

A couple of them may require dipping into your Weeklies, but most people on WW will tell you that you’ll see better results when you don’t leave your Weeklies on the table, anyway. (I have found this to be true, myself, as well.)

So here’s what I threw together in under an hour yesterday – FIVE different make-at-home snacks that are delicous and point friendly.

Garlic and Red Pepper Hummus

WW Points: 0 Purple, 0 Blue, 4 Green (serves 8)

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (15 oz) chick peas/garbanzo beans – 1 drained, 1 not drained
  • 3 tsp minced garlic (heaping! add 4 if you’d like)
  • 12 oz roasted red peppers packed in water – drained
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Add 1 whole can of chick peas (including liquid) and 1 drained can of chick peas, 3-4 heaping teaspoons of minced garlic, 12 oz of roasted red peppers packed in water (drained), salt and pepper into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth and combined, scraping down the sides as needed. Enjoy with sliced cucumbers, carrot sticks, or pita chips.

Easy Pico De Gallo

WW Points: 0 Purple, 0 Blue, 0 Green

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium tomatoes (or 3 Roma tomatoes) – diced
  • 1/2 large onion – diced (you can use red, yello, or white onion)
  • 2 fresh jalapeno peppers – deseeded and diced
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro – chopped
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/4 cup lime juice (or to taste – you want it to cover everything without making it soupy)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Throw each prepped ingredient into a bowl and mix together. Pair with baked tortilla chips or chip of your choice.

Sweet Pepper Poppers

WW Points: 3 Purple, 3 Blue, 3 Green (for 2 whole peppers, 4 halves)

Ingredients:

  • 2 mini sweet peppers – halved lengthwise and deseeded
  • 2 Laughing Cow light cheese wedges
  • 1 tsp Everything But the Bagel seasoning

Instructions:

  • Spread half a Laughing Cow light cheese wedge into a halved pepper. Sprinkle Everything but the bagel seasoning over the top. Repeat for the other pepper halves.

Grown-Up Lunchable

WW Points: 5 Purple, 5 Blue, 7 Green

Ingredients*:

  • 17 slices Hormel turkey pepperoni
  • 4 slices extra lean smoked turkey breast
  • 1 slice Laughing Cow light cheese wedge
  • 1 hard-boiled egg
  • 1 bunch red seedless grapes

*Other 0-point ideas: baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, broccoli florets, zucchini sticks, Skinny Girl ranch dressing, strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, and more.

Instructions:

  • Grab a container and arrange ingredients inside to snack on now or save for later. Can be eaten for lunch or a filling snack.

Skinny Trail Mix

WW Points: 4 Purple, 4 Blue, 4 Green (serves 2)

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup Ocean Spray Craisins 50% less sugar
  • 15 Lily’s White Chocolate Style Baking Chips

Instructions:

  • Combine the ingredients in a small bowl, mix and enjoy.
